January 8, 2026, Lucerne, Switzerland  -  After years of quiet preparation, shared vision, and unwavering faith, a long-awaited chapter in Rizalian history has finally begun. The Ladies of Rizal Switzerland formally and proudly announce two defining milestones that mark their birth as an organization and their place within the global Rizalian movement: November 26, 2025, the official Foundation Day, and January 2, 2026, the Oath-Taking of the Founder and President. These dates stand not merely as events, but as the fulfillment of a collective aspiration to establish a strong, principled, and enduring Rizalian presence in Switzerland.

The Oath-Taking Ceremony, held on January 2, 2026 in Brussels, Belgium, was both historic and symbolic. Chosen with purpose, Brussels served as a reminder that Rizalian ideals know no borders and that the legacy of Dr. José Rizal continues to take root across Europe. With this solemn act, the leadership and mission of the Ladies of Rizal Switzerland were formally set in motion.

On this momentous occasion, Lady Michelle Ngo Salangsang was officially sworn in as Founder and President. In recognition of her leadership, perseverance, and deep commitment to Rizalism, she was also conferred a Medal of Recognition by Sir Lino Paras, KGCR, Chairman of the Knights of Rizal European Council. The honor affirmed not only her personal dedication, but the collective promise and credibility of the organization she now leads.

Composed of committed officers and future esteemed members, the Ladies of Rizal Switzerland stands as a direct affiliate of the Knights of Rizal. While capable of standing independently, the organization remains closely aligned and collaborative with the Knights of Rizal and Rizalian charitable institutions worldwide. United by a clear purpose, the Ladies of Rizal Switzerland are devoted to advancing Rizalism through education, cultural preservation, civic responsibility, and humanitarian service. Their formation answers a long-felt need for a unified Rizalian women’s presence in Switzerland, one that honors tradition while actively shaping the future.

The leadership of Lady Michelle Ngo Salangsang reflects the very ideals the organization upholds. Born and raised in Paco, Manila, she is the daughter of a Cebuana mother and a father from Fujian, China. Her multicultural heritage has shaped her lifelong advocacy for education, equality, love of country, and cultural understanding. These values are deeply aligned with the teachings of Dr. José Rizal and are now woven into the foundation of the organization she leads.

Alongside her is her husband, Sir Yenz Salangsang, KCR, current Chapter Head of the Knights of Rizal Lucerne Chapter. Together, they work hand in hand to promote Rizalism throughout Switzerland. Their mission is not only organizational, but deeply personal. As parents, they are committed to raising their son, Jaden, with a strong sense of Filipino identity, instilling in him the knowledge that Filipino blood carries history, strength, and honor wherever he may stand in the world.

Lady Michelle extends her deepest gratitude to the distinguished Rizalian leaders whose trust, guidance, and confidence made this long-awaited endeavor possible: Sir Lino Paras, KGCR, Chairman of the Knights of Rizal European Council; Sir Antonio Guansing, KGCR, Senior Adviser, Europe Region Council; Sir Jim Rebong, KCGR, Europe Council; Sir Johnny Villa, KGOR, European Deputy Regional Commander; Sir Noubikko Ulanday; and Sir Virgilio Esguerra, KGCR. The 13th-century castle, a revered cultural and historical landmark, provides a powerful setting where history and vision meet. It serves as a reminder that the ideals of Rizal, though rooted in the past, remain vital and forward-looking.

To meet them is to see a portrait of heritage and service woven into everyday life: a father devoted to leadership, a mother anchored in compassion, and a son carrying the promise of a generation that blends cultures without losing its roots.

A Father’s Calling

For Yenz Santos Salangsang, leadership has never been about titles but about purpose. Born in Germany, educated in the Philippines, and tested by an international IT career that took him across Asia, Yenz’s journey has been one of adaptability and vision.

Now based in Switzerland, he serves as the Chapter Commander of the Knights of Rizal in Luzern, an organization dedicated to carrying forward the teachings of the national hero. Under his leadership, the chapter has become a beacon for Filipinos in Europe — organizing mentorship programs, cultural activities, and heritage events that strengthen identity abroad.

“Rizal taught us that love of country knows no borders,” Yenz says with conviction. “True patriotism is not where you stand, but how you live.”

It’s a belief that guides his every endeavor: that education and virtue are inseparable, and that knowledge gains meaning only when used in service to others.

A Mother’s Grace

Beside him is Michelle Ngo Salangsang, a Manileña whose journey carried her from the bustling streets of Manila to the refined world of Swiss luxury watches. With a degree in Journalism, Michelle built her career on precision and trust — qualities that mirror her character.

But beyond her professional achievements, Michelle is known for her compassion. A proud member of Las Damas de Rizal Switzerland, she believes in empowering women as pillars of heritage and hope.

Her project, Blessings Boxes, is a labor of love — sending care packages filled with food and essentials to communities in Pampanga, sustained by donations from fellow Rizalistas and Swiss sponsors. She has also extended her kindness to survivors in Siargao, women rebuilding their lives with courage.

“We may be far from home,” Michelle reflects softly, “but our hearts must always find ways to give back.”

Her kindness carries the unmistakable warmth of Filipino bayanihan — generosity that reaches across oceans.

A Son’s Heritage

At the heart of this story is Jaden Jens, their young son, who represents a new kind of Filipino: global in exposure, yet grounded in heritage. Raised in a household where learning, humility, and compassion are daily lessons, Jaden is growing up with a quiet understanding that identity is not just something inherited but something lived.

For Yenz and Michelle, nurturing him means passing on more than traditions — it means shaping character, integrity, and empathy. In him, Rizal’s vision finds continuity.

A Living Legacy

From Germany to the Philippines, across Asia, and now in Switzerland, their story is a journey of resilience and connection — proof that being Filipino is not bound by place, but carried in the heart.

Knowing Nadia Arroyo's distinct taste, I can relive the memories that I spent with the famous Society of Seven in Honolulu. Polistico was the longest Filipino Entertainment celebrity show in Honolulu, with over 14 years of “must-see” when visiting Hawaii during the 80s and 90s.  


Combined with another over 10 years performing in Las Vegas, Polistico has the right and all the credibility to compare beautiful places and their beaches.

Palawan, Philippines' largest province is considered home to the best beaches in the country. To understand its full aura, one must experience snorkeling or swimming and let that tan naturally magnify the coastal experience.
