Metrobank gets award for strong corporate governance
METROPOLITAN Bank & Trust Co. received recognition for its corporate governance practices at the Golden Arrow Awards of the Institute of Corporate Directors (ICD).
For the third straight year, the bank received four Golden Arrows from the ICD, it said in a statement on Wednesday.
“Good corporate governance goes beyond compliance with established standards. It is about doing what is right, making sound decisions, and being accountable to those who place their trust in us. This recognition affirms our commitment to upholding these principles and making them integral to how we conduct our business,” said Metrobank Compliance Head Arnulfo B. Pascioles, Jr.
The bank said the award shows its commitment to accountable leadership, responsible decision-making, and the protection of stakeholder interests.
“The award underscores Metrobank’s sustained commitment to embedding accountability, fairness, transparency, and ethical leadership in how it conducts its business,” it said.
“This recognition reinforces the responsibility to uphold sound governance throughout the organization — from board oversight to everyday business decisions. Through these practices, the bank seeks to preserve the trust of its customers and shareholders while supporting the long-term interests of the communities it serves.”
The annual Golden Arrow awards recognize listed companies and insurance firms based on their performance under the 2025 ASEAN Corporate Governance Scorecard (ACGS) and Corporate Governance Scorecard (CGS), which evaluate criteria including shareholder rights, equitable treatment of shareholders, disclosure and transparency, and board responsibilities.
The ICD held the awarding ceremony on Oct. 23.
